Scavenger Hunt/Alone

Today we spent the day in Williamsburg at a meetup of my photo group.  Everyone got a scavenger hunt sheet.  My finds were the Compton Oak (tree), the post office sign (horn), Peter Hay's Shop (red), the gate at the Governor's Palace through a keyhole (crown), the Governor's Palace at the end of Palace Green (alone), a bonus photo of the group, a clock at the Governor's Palace (clock), the sign for the King's Arms Tavern (lion), a display in the apothecary (bottle), and a window and bricks at the Capitol (bricks).

We have been on the waiting list for Starlink for a couple of years.  Today our Starlink receiver arrived, and my husband set it up to start testing it.  We currently have satellite television and DSL internet through the phone lines because there are no cable providers or fiber optic lines in the rural area where we live.

Today's letters are the emblem from a Maserati that I saw in the parking lot at work recently and a letter from a campaign sign.  The Maserati emblem looked like a W to me, and I really liked how it looked, and since it is Election Day, I thought the X from a candidate's name worked perfectly.

 

 

 And since it is Election Day, here is another picture about that.

Picture Style | Minimalist | Scavenger Hunt 

I spent most of today helping at a rest stop for an annual bike ride in our community.  We were responsible for prepping food for the cyclists to snack on during the bike ride.  Given that the ride is called the Great Pumpkin Ride, there are a lot of pumpkin themed foods like pumpkin bread, pumpkin pie, and pumpkin soup.  I didn't have the time to check all of the prompts for the day as I was working, but I did strive to try to stick to the theme of minimalism.  Here's my collage for the day.

I distorted my charging cables to make the letter U, and for months I have known that I was going to take a picture of the V with crossed sabres logo from one of my UVA shirts for this upcoming prompt.

I really dread the scavenger hunt prompts.  Taking one picture a day is sometimes a challenge for me, let alone nine.  Then there's the whole ordeal of making the collage with nine photos.  I think I need to remember to take them all in landscape format since the vertical ones don't format right in a grid.  Part of the way through taking pictures I tried going with a theme of using UVA gear, which worked well, because of the school spirit involved.  I didn't feel like going back and trying to find UVA themed objects for the other three pictures.

 

Round: UVA basketball

Colorful: Fresh veggies from the garden; they feed the spirit

Soft: Our cat Ripley, who is very spirited

Small: Earrings

With polka dots: A heart-shaped dish

Vintage: CavMan; the Cavalier has been UVA's mascot since 1925

Delicious: A UVA cookie jar and a cookie from Crumbl

Sparkly: My sparkliest UVA shirt

With words: A t-shirt showing the whole NCAA bracket to celebrate UVA's championship in 2019

Today I put up my summer wreath, which conveniently looks like an O and contains lots of my favorite color purple.  P is for my son Preston and is found on a Preston Trucking patch ("the 151 line") that we found when he was little.  Today it marks his mailbox bin at our house.
