My mom and I attended the 90th birthday celebration for our bowling teammate. Her family did a fantastic job with the event, and while she knew there was a party, she was surprised by the extent of it. She moved to Virginia from New York and had bowled there too. Her teammates from there were also in attendance.

Soup
Today I visited the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley with my best friend. I was able to finally catch the exhibit "Curious By Nature" featuring the art of Charley and Edie Harper on its last weekend there. Among other things, I found this piece titled Potluck. Maybe the coatimundi is eating soup out of this container. We'll never know.

I also met my best friend for lunch today. We used to meet at a restaurant called Griffin Tavern. However someone else is running it now, and it's called Dark Horse Irish Gastro Pub. The food was still pretty good. It's a slightly different atmosphere now though.

Piping Hot
I celebrated my birthday with my family and best friend at a place called 50/50 Taphouse in Winchester. My friend made me a delicious flourless chocolate cake. The candles were piping hot after they were lit.

An Item of Clothing
Feeling a bit nostalgic today. In high school I couldn't wait to get my letter jacket. I wore it all the time. I was in marching band and received a letter for that as well as an academic letter.

I spent the afternoon having lunch with some dear friends today. We ate at Metro Diner in Fredericksburg and talked for hours. Such a fun day that we have vowed to do more often. Photo courtesy of our waitress on my friend's phone.
Today I had lunch with my best friend, something we do several times a year. This time we went to a new restaurant, Ours Noir, in Washington, Virginia. We had a great time and a wonderful lunch. We also visited a couple of art galleries.
The Monte Cristo was terrific!
We had the flourless chocolate cake and the pecan pie.
