Digging Out
We're all still digging out from the recent snowstorm. Many parking lots still have snow blocking portions of the aisles.

Footprints
Yesterday we got a dusting of snow. As I was heading out to my car to leave this morning, I realized that there was a trail of footprints in the snow.

Now
It has been extremely cold here in Virginia this week. The snow we got on January 6 is still hanging around, and the snow that fell on January 19 has hardly melted at all. Today was sunny, but at 11:00 a. m. the temperature was just 14°F. Parts of the back patio still look like this. Schools were delayed or canceled today due to the cold temperatures and icy roads.

Chosen | Seasonal Photo
I have chosen our back patio for the seasonal photo this year. I am hoping that there will be a lot of changes here over the coming year. Today is a clear day with a temperature of 37°F.

White
David and I went over to school to finish shoveling out some of the walkways. There's still quite a bit of white stuff on the ground.

Notice
I was busy taking Christmas decorations down and all I had time to notice were these icicles hanging over our back patio.

Trees
It has been a while since I took a picture of this funky curved tree in our front woods.

Door
I went out for an appointment today, but I didn't find any interesting doors. After returning home, I took a picture of our door in the winter weather, complete with snow clearing equipment.

Quiet
All's quiet here on a snowy Epiphany day. In Virginia, any snow generally means a snow day. The roads were too bad for me to drive to work today, but my boss who doesn't generally close for snow, made the unprecedented decision (at least in the 7 years I have worked there) to close today.
Today I thought of Robert Frost's poem:
Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening

High Contrast
I took this picture of our front yard today while it was still snowing. Then I ran it through ON1 to bump up the contrast. Original is first followed by the edited image.

Icy
I just focused on the icy part of the prompt and found some icicles hanging from the house.

Technical Challenge
I was going to go with a different idea for this photo, but another snow day off from work gave me more time to work with this prompt. Thanks to my husband I didn't have to drag the tripod out into the snow. I don't use Photoshop so I used the easydroste app. Details: f/5.6 | 1/1000 sec. | ISO 200 | 89mm

Prompt Free
A snow day always calls for building a Lego project. We haven't had snow for nearly two years (728 days to give the official number for an inch or more snow in Washington, D. C.).
