We traveled to Washington, D. C. for a company party and decided to take in some of the exhibits at the National Building Museum. We looked at a miniatures exhibit of souvenirs that mostly featured buildings, checked out the latest LEGO exhibit, walked through the exhibition about Brutalist architecture, and perused the Frank Lloyd Wright show about unbuilt works for Pittsburgh.
My dad worked for HUD for a while, and I never knew that the headquarters was a Brutalist design. My mom doesn't think that he worked in this particular building though.
The atrium of the National Building Museum was already set up for the party later in the evening.
Behind the scenes: the mobile kitchen.
