Low Light
Not an especially pretty picture, but it's definitely a low light situation when I leave work during the winter. This is the view from the shopping center where I work down to the street below (the shopping center sits atop a hill).

My husband found this cute figurine for me to use with Lego models.

Seasonal Still Life
I took a hint from Garnett and decided to use my china for a still life. I have a whole set of this Currier & Ives pattern that was my mom's. I mostly used the tea service pieces, except I couldn't resist using the butter dish also because it has a sleigh riding scene depicted.

On My Walk
On Saturdays I usually walk on my elliptical. Today Ripley decided to photobomb my picture so she could look outside at the birds.

Off Prompt
While I was in town running errands after work this morning, I saw this cute car. I have seen this one or another one like it out on the roads but haven't had the chance to snap a picture of it.

Fire
These are lit sugared red berry branches from Balsam Hill. I bought them as Christmas decor but decided to leave them out to warm up dreary January evenings.

Now
There isn't much that is in season around here in January. After forgetting to take a picture at bowling (it is bowling season), I settled on it being bird feeder season here.

Quiet
My favorite place to find quiet is while I'm reading just before bedtime. I'm currently reading A Clearing in the Distance by Witold Rybczynski about Frederick Law Olmsted and China Rich Girlfriend by Kevin Kwan.

I noticed this mirror at church. The image on it isn't a reflection though.

High Contrast
I took this picture of our front yard today while it was still snowing. Then I ran it through ON1 to bump up the contrast. Original is first followed by the edited image.

I just focused on the icy part of the prompt and found some icicles hanging from the house.

Off Prompt
During our snow day yesterday I started another building project. This is the Atom Brick project I got back in September when I visited Frank Lloyd Wright's Fallingwater and Kentuck Knob. This is Unity Temple in Oak Park, Illinois. This product is very similar to Lego, but it's a smaller scale. The pieces are a lot smaller and can be a little painful to work with. I love the building manual though! It is hardbound like an actual book, and I like that it's on white paper instead of the black that Lego uses. I tend to have a lot of difficulty distinguishing the colors on the black paper. I would definitely build another Atom Brick project, especially the Frank Lloyd Wright ones that Lego has discontinued or doesn't have.

Picture In A Picture | Droste Effect
Technical Challenge
I was going to go with a different idea for this photo, but another snow day off from work gave me more time to work with this prompt. Thanks to my husband I didn't have to drag the tripod out into the snow. I don't use Photoshop so I used the easydroste app. Details: f/5.6 | 1/1000 sec. | ISO 200 | 89mm

Prompt Free
A snow day always calls for building a Lego project. We haven't had snow for nearly two years (728 days to give the official number for an inch or more snow in Washington, D. C.).

One Word
I had actually been thinking about this for a couple of weeks, even before seeing this prompt. I realized that it had been a while since I had used the Scrabble board for a prompt. It was a bit of a challenge to locate it.
