One of my superpowers seems to be finding somewhat obscure places to visit on trips. Today we visited Polymath Park in the Laurel Highlands of Pennsylvania. Polymath Park was originally home to the
Balter and Blum Houses, designed by Wright apprentice Peter Berndston.
Wright's Duncan and Lindholm (or Mantyla) Houses have been moved there
after being threatened with demolition due to development. Now Lloyd
Wright's Birdwing has been deconstructed and will be rebuilt there too. On our visit we saw the Balter House, the Duncan House, and the Lindholm (Mantyla) House. Very much worth a visit if you are into architecture or Frank Lloyd Wright.
