In addition to new instructor training where I work, there are also additional levels of training that we can take.  I have attempted to start the Level 2 Instructor training a couple of times, but there are always more pressing things to do so I have not finished it yet.  Additionally, one can also review math topics in order to assist students with their homework.

As today's prompt description states, "Life is all about balancing light and darkness, both literally for us as photographers and figuratively as human beings.  Play creatively with the relationship between these two powerful elements and photograph your perception of a healthy balance between the two."  Based on a phrase I remembered from today's Scripture reading, I set up a candle to play with light and shadows.  This is my favorite.  "the people living in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned." ~Matthew 4:16

I have been a fan of mechanical pencils since I discovered them in drafting class in high school.  Over the years I discovered that I prefer a 0.7 mm mechanical pencil, and my favorite lead is something in the B or 2B range.  I have found that I don't care for lead that is HB or in the H range.  Of course, if I'm doing any kind of architectural drawings, the type of lead might be dictated by what is being drawn.  For comparison, the standard #2 pencil required by all those standardized tests is generally equivalent to HB.  The blue box of Pentel 2B lead kind of glows.

From the back of the church the cloth on the communion table looked like graphite.  Up close, it's actually blue, but the words on the sign are definitely gray.  "Have I not commanded you? Getting to church motivates me to get up and get going on a cold winter day.  There are several interesting trees around the church.  This one stood out to me today because it's some kind of evergreen and shouldn't have lost all of its greenery.  "And a voice from heaven said, 'This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.' Charming

No charm bracelets for me, but what's new is the snowflake pan I bought before Christmas.  I was going to make some brownies in it for Christmas, but after my surgery I wasn't up for making anything.  Our work Christmas party is tonight, and a few days ago my boss asked if I wanted to make a dessert for it since I had made some last year.  At first I was going to decline, but I changed my mind because I remembered that I had this pan and the ingredients for brownies.  So here is the finished product.  I hope everyone finds it charming and delicious.

Kickstart

It's not necessarily new, but it's been several weeks since I've been to church on Sunday.  To kick off the new year I served as the worship leader today.  My husband graciously took some pictures of me this morning. "On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him.  Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh." ~Matthew 2:11

 

I am happy to be with a group of fellow photographers committing to a 365 project for my sixth year.  While I have had a camera since I was young and took photography classes in high school, the advent of digital cameras intimidated me.  Joining a group of photographers has allowed me to learn how to use many of the settings on my camera and even some of the photography apps.  I am a former homeschooling mom whose sons have both graduated.  Now I work part time at a math only tutoring center, where I get to put to use things I learned in architecture school to encourage our students to like math.  In addition to photography, I enjoy traveling, reading, bowling, Lego, and exercising (which is on hold for a bit while I recover from surgery).
