I used intentional camera movement (ICM) to take a picture of the welcome sign outside our door.  It took a few tries to get the exposures right.

Imagine

Picture Style | Long Exposure
Imagine that the bowling ball is traveling down the lane instead of on the counter.  I forgot to try to take my picture during practice, and it's too difficult to try to take one during the actual games.  By the time we finished, everyone else was finishing up as well so I couldn't use their balls as subjects either.  While we're imagining things, we can imagine that I bowled a 300 today also. (I did not; my highest game was a 168.)

Affluent

Picture Style | Long Exposure
I had some time to try writing something with light.  Unfortunately, I think my light source was running out of fluid, and it's too difficult to turn on and off between letters so my K and R kind of run together.

I tried to take a picture of traffic earlier in the day, but that didn't work out.  No waterfalls or fountains nearby so I tried to make my own.  It's almost 9:00 p. m. so this is the best that's going to happen today.  "The entire law is summed up in a single command: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' Masterful

Picture You | High Key
Well, we had a barbecue to belatedly celebrate my son's birthday, and for part of the day I had misplaced my camera.  I was able to take a few pictures of flowers, but I don't really feel that they particularly show mastery or skill with high key photography, especially with our Nikon Coolpix.  I thought that I had found the setting that would allow me to adjust the exposure to under or overexpose, but the pictures looked the same as normal so I must not have done it correctly.  Something to investigate further.

Truthful

Guest Prompt | High Key
I knew that the only way I was going to get enough light for a high key self portrait was to do it in the morning before I left to run errands and then head to work.  This is pretty much what I look like every day when I work.

Soulful

Picture You | High Key
I had to go outside this morning to take some pictures of our house to send to a contractor to get estimates for a patio.  I found Ripley watching me from inside.  Perhaps she was soulfully missing me.  I'm certain it wasn't that she wanted to be outside though because she usually wants right back in whenever she is out.  Not really high key, but it's the best I've got today.

Legendary

Picture You | High Key | Sunday Selfie
I think that this might go down as a legendary Father's Day gift from our church.  Last Sunday moms and kids stayed after church to make these cute squirrel feeders.  This probably isn't really high key, but I turned all of the lights on that I could (maybe I should have added the flash too?).  “Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you." ~Exodus 20:12

This is my attempt to re-create the picture of my sons from our August 2006 trip to Seattle to take an Alaska cruise.  I used a bouncy ball, a couple of Lego minifigs, and a LEGO model of the Space Needle.

Force

Picture More | Rules of Space
"Forced perspective is a technique which manipulates human perception by employing optical illusion to make objects appear larger, smaller, farther, or closer than they really are. By viewing the correlation between scaled objects and the vantage point of the camera or spectator, human visual perception becomes altered."  When your son brings over a deer skull, you can't not use it in a picture.

Unbeatable

Picture More | Rules of Space | Fill the Space
This isn't the best picture, but I really wanted to get a picture of my new bowling shirt today, and we were almost unbeatable.  My mom and I won two games and took total pins after bowling the gentlemen who are currently in second place.  However, near the end of our league's bowling session, the bowling alley was inundated with something like 120 kids.  We were pre-warned that they were coming, but in the rush to leave, I totally forgot to take a picture of the scoreboard.  I left and put my things in my car before remembering, and of course, by the time I came back inside, the scores were gone.  So the best I could do was this picture of me in my sparkly new shirt and new haircut.

Legend

Picture More | Rules of Space
This silo painted to resemble an ear of corn has been a landmark in the area for many years, but the family who owned the dairy farm decided to retire and sell the property.  The paint is starting to show some wear now, but it still clearly looks like an ear of corn, at least for now.  "O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! Attractive

Picture Color | Black
I find this dark gray Lamborghini Huracan to be very attractive.  I was a bit stuck for an idea today and was thinking about using this car, but when I looked up "This Day in History" on the History Channel's website, I saw that in 1955 there was a car crash at Le Mans that killed the driver and injured dozens of people in the grandstand so I thought that it was suitable to use a race car to remember this event.

Some other interesting events that I discovered: Henry VIII married Catherine of Aragon on July 11, 1509, and "E. T. the Extra-Terrestrial" was released in theaters in 1982.

Back at the end of April I went to the Shenandoah Apple Blossom parade with my best friend.  I always take lots of pictures.  I was able to get a picture of Terry Bradshaw, who was honored with the title of Grand Marshal, actually looking at the camera. I also got one of Dean Cain, who was the Marshal of the Firefighters' Parade, but he was looking the opposite direction.

Sometimes the bowling alley can be a good place for a form of street photography, and it's definitely a place where we cheer each other on and support each other with good conversation.
