I appreciate that our house is nestled in the woods.  The trees provide an ever-changing view of the sky and our surroundings.  Today I decided to look up through the canopy of bare tree branches to the mostly overcast sky.

A new banner was put up for today's church service, and the pews and runner act as leading lines.  It's definitely time to reflect on the thought of joy to the world.  "Then he went down to Nazareth with them and was obedient to them.  But his mother treasured all these things in her heart." ~Luke 2:51

Well, there's blue but not really any indigo.  I chose this picture because my sons got each other the same present, and they opened them at nearly the same time.

Valuable

Picture Color | Indigo
I'm sure that someone is wearing indigo, but my focus is on the lighting of the candles and singing of "Silent Night" that is done at the end of our Christmas Eve service nearly every year.  After not having one last year, it was wonderful to have the service this year. "Silent night, holy night; Son of God, love's pure light; Radiant beams from Thy holy face; With the dawn of redeeming grace"

Another of my favorite scenes on Christmas Eve is the appearance and lighting of the Christ candle.

My bowling ball is definitely purple (and not indigo), but bowling every Wednesday this year has helped me believe in the good that is out there and given me positive energy.  Today we had our bowling party where we bring in a first strike gift and goodies to share.  You can even see the reflection of the festive lights at the bowling alley in my ball.

of the humble state of his servant.
From now on all generations will call me blessed,
for the Mighty One has done great things for me --
holy is his name'" ~Luke 1:46-49

Broken

Picture Style | Indoors | Song Lyrics
We have a whole set of ornaments from Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and Frosty the Snowman. This is Bumble, the abominable snowman from Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer animated show.  Bumble is very mean until Hermey, the elf who wants to be a dentist, discovers that his teeth are bothering him, and he is able to help him by fixing them.  Nearly all of the characters are misunderstood until the end of the show, but they all come to be accepted for who they are.
Then one foggy Christmas Eve
Santa came to say
"Rudolph, with your nose so bright
Won't you guide my sleigh tonight?"

I just love these stained glass windows in the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts.  It is the Christ Resurrection Window from the All Saints Episcopal Church in Richmond, and it was designed by the Tiffany Glass & Decorating Company in 1900.  The church built a new, larger building in 1957, and the window was placed in storage until it was donated to the VMFA (around 2008, if I'm reading correctly).  Some of the other Tiffany designed windows were moved to the new church location.

I have some new outdoor Christmas decorations, and I was excited to try to get a picture with them.  I tried earlier in the week, and the pictures didn't turn out very good.  I was getting home pretty late every night, and it was cold.  I put it off until Friday, eagerly waiting for the lights to come on and for it to start getting dark.  Well, I got everything set up and took two pictures.  Then it started raining!  So this is as good as it gets.

This took me a long time to finish because the day fell on one of the early days when I was falling ill (and was out of commission for nearly two weeks).  I had already taken nearly all of the pictures but between being sick, keeping up with current photo posts, and getting ready for Christmas, I had very little time to organize the pictures and make the collage.  I finally had time to put it all together.  Lately, I've been using Canva to make collages because I have found it to be easier to work with than Lightroom.
Red: Lego-themed candles on my son's birthday French silk pie
Orange: Showing my alma mater's colors for the big game against our in state rival
