Where I Stand
I'm standing in my dining room this morning trying to get the place settings set for a family dinner this afternoon so that we aren't rushing to get it set when the food is ready to eat.

Vast
I didn't necessarily intend to take a picture of the sky today, but when I was driving to work the rays of sun streaming through the clouds were too beautiful to ignore.

A House
This is the house where I grew up, taken in 1985.

My Style
My style is pretty casual. A few years ago I discovered Simply Southern, and now I have quite a collection of shirts. These are just a few that I now own and wear regularly.

This is what I've been listening to while driving in my car lately.

New Growth
Lent can be a time of new growth. Today I brought the children's message at church and briefly mentioned that some people use palm slips to make crosses. Well, a couple of people found a video online and were making some after the service.

Shadow
It has mostly been a cloudy day, but I did see this in the sky as I was leaving work this morning.

Music
Now that both of my sons have moved out the piano is silent most of the time. My older son has been in his own place for about 4 years, and my younger son just got his own apartment last fall. When they visit, they sometimes play the piano so there is still always music sitting out. Both of them were fairly accomplished having won awards at local piano festivals. My younger son decided to participate in a sonatina festival his last year of high school, and while cleaning the other day, I found this rosette that he earned just in time for this prompt.

Unusual Produce | Guest Prompt
I found this unusual produce at the store today. According to the label it's Kiwano melon.

A Favorite
So many possibilities, but not a lot of time today. New York Super Fudge Chunk is a favorite ice cream so we'll just go with that.

A Plant
Some lovely flowers I found at church. In honor of St. Patrick's Day, an Irish blessing: "May flowers always line your path and sunshine light your day."

Hands Full
My cat Ripley decided to make herself comfortable on my bed just as I was setting up to take a picture so I decided to include her today.

Photo Recreate | Challenge Day
Today's challenge was to recreate the scene from American Gothic by Grant Wood with our own twist and creativity. Here's my take, followed by the original.

Pi or Pie
Happy Pi Day! (That's pi; not pie.) Pi is the the Greek number that represents the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter. Pi is a number that is infinite and without repetition beyond its decimal point. I found some cute mini pies in the grocery store today.

Shiny
After being fixed from the unfortunate incident in February, my car is bright and shiny now. I took my car in on a Monday morning and was able to pick it up the following Friday afternoon.

Vintage
My collection of vintage cameras. The Brownie was my first camera. The Teleflash T-52 was my second one. The Kodak Instamatic was the camera my mom always used when I was growing up in the 70s.

Green | Color Day
Some of my daffodils have started blooming! Mine almost always bloom a few weeks after everyone else's so I was very happy to see this. The quote is slightly adapted (to fit on my message board) from a passage in Farmer Boy by Laura Ingalls Wilder.

Motivate
Having a set of weights and an elliptical machine in my house helps to keep me motivated to exercise regularly.

Happy
Seeing this upon arriving at the bowling alley this morning did not make me very happy today. They apparently had to do some kind of maintenance on the lighting this morning before we could begin bowling. It ended up delaying our start by ten minutes or so, but we had no delays after that.

My World | Seasonal Photo
Changes that can be seen are daffodil and narcissus flower stems sprouting. It's still kind of gray because it has been raining off and on recently. Unfortunately, every time I go to take these pictures, the birds all fly off.

A Knife
My younger son earned this knife for selling Boy Scout popcorn quite a few years ago. My son was quite the popcorn salesman and often earned top seller awards at both the unit and district level. It sits in our dining room in this cupcake dish that my other son painted just in case someone is ever in need of a pocketknife.

An Item of Clothing
Feeling a bit nostalgic today. In high school I couldn't wait to get my letter jacket. I wore it all the time. I was in marching band and received a letter for that as well as an academic letter.

Dr. Seuss
Dr. Seuss was a favorite for us. These are just a few of the books that we have.
